DESCRIPTION:When CineSol Film Festival opens its 16th annual festival on September 11\, Catherine Hardwicke\, director of Twilight (2008) will lead the star pack of moviemakers at the festival. CineSol\, always a valleywide fine arts group\, will open its 2009 independent film festival in Harlingen\, where it will be hosted by Texas State Technical College (TSTC). \n\nCatherine Hardwicke grew up in McAllen and is a 1973 graduate of McAllen High School. Her training as an architect led her into production design once she arrived in Hollywood. Her string of nineteen production designer credits include Vanilla Sky (2001) and The Newton Boys (1998). She directed The Nativity Story (2006)\, Lords of Dogtown (2005) and Thirteen (2003). She also wrote the script for Thirteen.\n\nAfter its opening weekend in Harlingen September 11-13\, CineSol will close September 19-20 at Cine El Rey in McAllen.
