LOCATION:In observance of National Stroke Awareness Month\, Dr. Ameer Hassan\, Endovascular Neurologist\, will speak and answer questions on “The Latest in Stroke Care” during a free “Dessert with a Doctor” event on Wednesday\, May 15\, at 6:30 p.m. at Valley Baptist Medical Center\, 2101 Pease Street in Harlingen (in the Woodward Conference Center on the first floor of the hospital). Dr. Hassan will discuss the latest procedures and innovations in stroke care\, including acute stroke treatment that can extend the window of time for patient care and reduce the chances of permanent disability. Dr. Hassan is the Valley’s first specially-trained Interventional Neurologist and serves as Clinical Director of Endovascular Surgical Neuroradiology and Neurocritical Care and Clinical Neuroscience Research at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen.
