DESCRIPTION:The Harlingen Police Department is offering a new class in the Citizens' Police Academy\, starting Monday\, January 17\, 2011 at 6:00 p.m.\n The ten-week course lasts 3 hours each Monday and covers many aspects of police procedures including: Criminal Law\, Court Cases\, Traffic Law\, Arrest Procedures\, Use of Force\, Handgun Training and Criminal Investigations. Academy members will also be allowed to ride along with officers in the Patrol Division. CPA Applicants must be residents of Harlingen\, at least 21 years of age and pass a background check.
