The Woman Artist: Her Work and Her Pride

ALLERY 218 to commence their annual Women’s Exhibition.Distinguished local art duo, Ben and Anna Varela, are working toward their latest event, GALLERY 218’s First Annual Women’s Exhibition to be held on Tuesday, December, 22, 2009 from 6pm to 9pm. The Varelas intend on illuminating the various talented women in the within the fine art realm.
Although it is common for art exhibitions to have a theme, this one in particular does not. When asked why there was no theme, Anna stated, "This is an excellent opportunity for the woman artist to express her individual ideas, thoughts, and environment in her own manner. No theme was included, so that the woman artist remains in charge of her creative process and her personal expressions through her chosen medium."
Upon entrance to the event, guests will be enveloped by the featured artists’ works, music, wine, desserts, and the bustle of the crowd. This is an opportunity for our community to come out and celebrate women artists, and winter, "a la mode!" This event is open to the public and will be hosted by The Varelas.
