About Us
nonprofit
The Salvation Army since 1935 has been doing social services in Harlingen and all of Cameron County! Daily we have walk-ins in our Admin building and we provide those in need with help for late bills, rent, food boxes, clothing. fans, ''Angel Tree'' gifts for Christmas and more! Weekly our Women's Club meets on Wednesdays for lunch and does activities which includes, service events for others, crafts, and public speakers are invited. On Sundays we have Bible studies and a service from 11:00 am til noon. In the summer we have camps for children, we participate in community events, and do projects to benefit those in need. Our Family Thrift Store helps us to gain income which is used for our social services. We are always looking for civic clubs and individuals who would like to volunteer during our Red Kettle Campaign in November and December. We must raise lots of donations because our combined help to the community is close to $250,000 annually. We serve in disasters as well, Contact us today to get involved and help make this world a better place!
