The U.S. Small Business Administration has organized a special series of four (4) human resource workshops to help small business owners or anyone thinking about starting a business avoid legal issues, as well as employee dissatisfaction. Human resources is a critical component of employee well-being in any business, no matter how small. HR responsibilities include payroll, benefits, hiring, firing, and keeping up to date with state and federal laws. Additionally, the sessions will provide an opportunity for participants to connect with representatives from federal and state resource agencies for expert information.
Part II will be presented by the U. S. Department of Labor-Wage and Hour Division and will teach participants the importance of complying with rules and regulations covered under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

• Child labor provisions and employment regulations for youth dependent on the age and type of work being conducted.
