The U.S. Small Business Administration has organized a special series of four (4) human resource workshops to help small business owners or anyone thinking about starting a business avoid legal issues, as well as employee dissatisfaction. Human resources is a critical component of employee well-being in any business, no matter how small. HR responsibilities include payroll, benefits, hiring, firing, and keeping up to date with state and federal laws. Additionally, the sessions will provide an opportunity for participants to connect with representatives from federal and state resource agencies for expert information. Part IV will be presented by the Office of the Attorney General and will inform participants on the new hire reporting as mandated by federal law and the requirements for employers to report new hires and rehires. Information received from employers is entered into a statewide registry and transmitted to the National Directory of New Hires.
