Join Harlingen leaders and community members at a gala reception celebrating the publication of At the Crossroads: Harlingen's First 100 Years by Eileen Mattei. This high quality publication, created in honor of Harlingen's 100th anniversary, highlights the community's accomplishments and heritage. The Book Release and Signing Reception will be from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 8, 2009, at the Harlingen Arts & Heritage Museum, 2425 Boxwood. Sponsors and persons who pre-paid for copies may pick up their books at this event. The 152-page publication also will be available for purchase. Books will be available beginning at 1:00 p.m., with remarks from 1:30 – 2:00 p.m., followed by book signing and reception from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. At the Crossroads includes more than 200 historic photographs and is destined to be a coveted keepsake for generations to come. Moreover, sales of this commemorative publication ($34.95 plus tax) will help raise funds for a wide range of Centennial activities in 2010.
