The celebration will kick off 8 a.m. Friday with the livestock show and will continue all day until 8 p.m. when cowboys from all over the country will participate in the rodeo, which is sanctioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and will feature bull riding, bare-back bronc riding, saddle-bronc riding, team roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing and other events. The event also hosts a carnival, which will begin at 4 p.m. On Saturday, the celebration with also kick off in the morning with the livestock show but will move on to state Highway 100 at 10 a.m. for a parade. The rodeo event will begin at 7 p.m. The carnival opens at 4 p.m. Friday and noon on Saturday and Sunday. Over the weekend, those in attendance can also enjoy performances from various musical acts, magicians and rodeo clowns. The Sunday rodeo is set to begin at 2 p.m. Tickets are $12 in advance at various locations, including Boot Jacks throughout the Valley, Julia's Restaurant in Los Fresnos and Bullrider in Harlingen, and Gavel's Western Wear in Brownsville. Tickets are $15 at the gate.
