Are you a Veteran interested in learning how to sell your product or service to the U.S. Government? A ''Procurement for Veterans'' workshop will be held on November 10 from 2 to 4 pm at the Harlingen Area Chamber of Commerce, located at 311 E Tyler in Harlingen. The workshop is sponsored by the Veterans Business Outreach Center (VBOC), the Rio South Texas Regional Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC), and the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at The University of Texas-Pan American. The three programs at UTPA provide business development services to the Rio Grande Valley business community. VBOC Director Alonzo Gracia encourages interested Veterans to attend the workshop and learn how government contracting really works. ''Government contracting is one way for Veteran-owned businesses to expand and further establish themselves in the marketplace,'' he adds. In addition to information on selling to the government, a business development specialist from the U.S. Small Business Administration will be present to discuss the agency's programs available for Veterans. To register for this seminar, please contact the Harlingen Area Chamber of Commerce at (956) 423-5440.
