CineSol Film Festival is a showcase festival that makes its way across the Rio Grande Valley, celebrating achievement in the art of filmmaking. CineSol is dedicated to furthering the art, craft and business of screenwriters and filmmakers and recognizing their artistic contributions. CineSol supports the work of aspiring and established filmmakers by enhancing public awareness of their artistic endeavors and by encouraging dynamic and long-lasting community alliances. CineSol made its historic debut in September 1993 in celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month. It provided the Texas Border Region with its first film festival ever, including cultural art events in the Mexican cities of Matamoros and Reynosa, Tamaulipas. CineSol has traveled throughout the region, bringing voice and vision through film and video directly to border communities. Festival Passes for both OPENING and CLOSING weekend is $125. Opening Weekend Pass is $75. Closing Weekend All Day Saturday Pass is $30. TSTC students free with Student ID. Film Race participants free with Race Badge. OPENING WEEKEND individual prices. Individual screenings are $5 except for MUSICA EN ESPERA, PANTS ON FIRE and the RESULTS OF THE 36 HOUR FILM RACE. Admission will be $10. There are different types of passes available at the door. CLOSING WEEKEND individual prices for individual screenings or workshops are $5. The only exception is ANDY PARIS: BUBBLEGUM KING on September 18th @ 8:00p.
