Business owners are invited to learn about costing and how this process influences strategic decisions over pricing and profitability. The free seminar, hosted by The University of Texas—Pan American's Veterans Business Outreach Center (VBOC) Project ASSIST II and the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) , is scheduled for July 21st from 2 to 4 pm at the Harlingen Area Chamber of Commerce, located at 311 E. Tyler, in Harlingen. VOBC Business Advisor Carlos Gutierrez will guide small business owners through a broad-based analysis of cost management at the operational level. The presentation will also include strategic tools for performance improvements. ''Business owners should understand the importance of cost management and how their costing processes align with industry best practices. Learning about emerging practices is also important for the performance improvement of any type of business,'' shares Gutierrez.
