Who, What, When & Where
The Texas Department of Transportation Pharr District (TxDOT) and City of Harlingen will hold a public hearing to discuss the proposed Stuart Place Road project in Cameron County. The hearing is schedule for Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at Stuart Place Elementary located at 6701 W. Business 83 in Harlingen, Texas 78552. The hearing will begin with an Exhibit Viewing Period from 5:30 pm to 6:00 pm and a formal presentation will follow
at 6:00 pm. This hearing will allow the public the opportunity to view the project details and provide comments.
Project Information
· Project Limits: From 0.101 mile south of Business 83 to 0.70 miles south of US 83
· Project Distance: Approximately 0.598 miles
· Project Description: The proposed project would improve mobility and connectivity while at the same time upgrading the existing facility between US
83 and Business 83. The proposed improvements would involve reconstructing and widening to a 46-foot wide urban type roadway with two 11-foot wide inside travel lanes and two 12-foot wide outside travel lanes. A 5-foot wide sidewalk would also be provided along the east side of the roadway. At the Business 83 intersection, an additional 12-foot wide center turning lane would be provided.
· Right-of-Way: The proposed improvements at
the Business 83 intersection would require approximately 0.4 acres of additional right-of-way involving commercial, residential and railroad properties for the center turning lane.
