On April 22, the Small Business Awards dinner will be held at The University of Texas-Pan American Annex building, 2412 South Closner, Edinburg, Texas to recognize the 2010 award recipients. The banquet will celebrate National Small Business Week and will honor the importance of small business ownership and recognize model entrepreneurs whose enterprises contribute to the commercial prosperity of the Rio Grande Valley. The banquet is hosted by The University of Texas-Pan American Small Business Development Center (SBDC), a component of the Business Development & Innovation Group, and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). The Small Business Person of the Year award will be given to Baldomero Trevino, owner of Mr. B Motor Company. Mr. Trevino has been an exemplary business leader serving the local community for over 32 years. He started his wholesale business with $500, selling little or no sales during his first years. Today, Mr. B Motors has grown to be one of the highest producing used-car dealership in the area.
